About us
We are a mother-daughter partnership offering a brand new domiciliary care service which is dedicated to having a positive impact to our local community.
In recognising our joint experiences, skills, and in-depth knowledge of what it takes to cultivate highly trained carers and provide good quality care, we were inspired to establish Sedcare LP.

Martha Mhlanga
Co-Founder & Registered Manager
My journey in care began when I worked as a care assistant and cleaner to pay my way through university. I qualified in 2009 with a BSc (Hons) Radiotherapy while continuing to work as a carer during the weekends for four years.
I now have over 20 years of front-line experience, working in no less than 14 NHS trusts across the UK and Ireland.
While I am proud of my Radiotherapy career and champion the profession to this day, I embarked on my dream and qualified with a Graduate LLB Law from Exeter university in 2018.
When the pandemic hit in 2020, I was honoured to be nursing my mother-in-law through a long illness. It was then that I realised, from my first-hand experiences, how the shortage of quality care services has affected those who need it most. In my free time you can find me enjoying quality time with my young son, outside gardening, or engrossed in a thrilling book.
Elizabeth Mhlanga
Co-Founder & Training and Development Lead
I graduated from Cheltenham Polytechnic with a Bachelor of Education in 1974, before embarking on a teaching career that has spanned over 40 years.
In 2018 I was away on holiday when I fell and suffered a life-threatening head injury. I was admitted into a devastatingly run-down hospital which had very little resources and staff who provided inadequate care. When I returned to the UK it became apparent that my experience had not been due to a lack of resources. The issues lay in the poor standard of training the nurses received. Yes, they were medically trained, but they did not ‘care’.
My experience made me determined to use my skills and abilities to train individuals who work in social care on how to provide a quality service. My biggest passion is inspiring and motivating the people I work with to reach their fullest potential.
Using bespoke teaching methods tailored to individual learning needs, I have since taught and mentored a wealth of individuals who have progressed to long, successful careers.
To unwind I enjoy going on long walks, sewing and settling down for a good movie.
